25% warmer than sheep’s wool
Alpaca fibres are entirely hollow. Similar to polar bear fur, Alpaca fibres have a greater thermal capacity. Warm air gets trapped inside the fibres filling your quilt with extra warmth.
Hypoallergenic, odour, and mildew resistant
Alpaca fibre is 85% more effective at wicking moisture away from the body. Because the fibres are hollow, each strand works to push any moisture molecules to the exterior of your quilt. You’ll stay dry and evenly warm throughout the night - summer or winter. Alpaca fibre has no lanolin to attract allergens making it naturally hypoallergenic. Your quilt will stay naturally odour and mildew free. We recommend you dry-clean your Alpaca quilt and spot wash small areas with minimal water. Air your new quilt for 1-2 days before you use it.
Soft, lightweight, durable fleece
Called the ‘fibre of the Gods’ by ancient Incas, Alpaca fibre is extremely soft and luxurious. The airiness of Alpaca fibre allows it to trap heat but remain lightweight. Each fibre is longer, smoother, and several microns smaller in diameter than sheep’s wool, and unlike sheep’s wool, Alpaca fibre does not catch or prickle. Alpaca fibre is strong and durable, providing a great night’s sleep for a long time.
